Advocacy for favorable legal climate for the dynamic business of over-the-air broadcasting.
ABBRO major successes include removal of the concession fees, reduction of spectrum license fees, several revisions of the Radio and Television Act, revision of the Local Elections Act, development of the National Strategy for Development of the Broadcasting Sector, a favourable conclusion of the competition authority against the Collecting Society of Phonographic Producers.
ABBRO is a founding member of the Bulgarian Media Coalition;
Provision of wide range of training programs to encourage rise of professional standards within the industry, i.e. broadcast management, sales and marketing, programming, media law updates, etc;
Provision of technical assistance, business consultancy, and institutional strengthening support to ABBRO members;
Provision of information services meant to increase awareness on the latest developments within the industry;
Organising national and international conferences and round tables focused on the issues related to broadcasting industry and regulatory framework
Implementation of community service programs focusing on raising public awareness on different issues, like drugs abuse, smoking, alcoholic beverages abuse, healthy and sustainable environment, etc.
In 2000 ABBRO set up a special award "Crystal microphone" for a radio-station that most effectively served the public interest throughout the year. |
